Developing Character Comedy

This course guides you from the seed of an idea to fully-formed characters. Using improv, writing, physical theatre, animal work, hot seating, dramaturgy and more, this course will help you explore your comedic strengths and individual tastes as you develop own 5-minute character comedy set.

Laura Riseborough is an accomplished actor and comedian, having appeared in productions for the BBC, ITV, Disney, Barbican and RSC, and solo character comedy shows at The Pleasance, Vault Festival, Arcola Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe. As an improviser, Laura teaches at The Free Association, and has performed in shows including Austentatious, Steen Improvises with Friends, Fluff and Northern Powerhouse.
